Here you will see step by step installation of WordPress for a self hosted blog.
Here we take it that.
1. Your site is hosted with Godaddy. For other hosts, procedure might be slightly different.
2. You have a valid domain with nameservers set as per hosting guidelines.
3. If your domain registrar is Godaddy, Goto domain manager and select “Hosting Nameservers”, this will automatically set appropriate nameservers.
4. Then you need to goto your hosting account and add your doamain to your hosting account. To do so after logging in to http://godaddy.com click Hosting in my product section in left sidebar. There you will see two links as shown below.
5. click on Manage Account, on the ensuing page, click on domain as shown below.
6. then add your domain. using Add Domain button. In this manner, once your domain is setup, goto Content –> Godaddy Hosting Connection as shown.
7. In the left sidebar of next page click Blogs –> WordPress, You will see a INSTALL NOW button as shown, click on that
8. Now this will ask you to select a compatible hosting account and domain selection, if you have multiple domain associated with a single hosting account.
9. After selecting domain, setup MySql database by entering database description and selecting a password for database.
10. Then you need to select a installation folder, if want to install this in the root of the domain, leave this blank.
11. Then in Configuration section you need to enter admin name, admin password, your mail id and blog title in the boxes as shown and press Finish
12. Congratulation, you have installed your wordpress blog with GoDaddy. Have rest for 15 minutes and then check your mail, when this will be installed, you will be mailed.
